The scene doesn't seem very special, but this is one of the most important scenes of the entire series.
Zephyr felt an aura of doom. He couldn’t quite figure it out, but something was wrong. His arms ached from being suspended for so long. He was also suffering malnourishment, but his thoughts were only on Olivia, as if to cope with the mental strain of being held prisoner. He almost knew what she was thinking, and could feel a connection to her, despite the large distance between them. Zephyr felt his lungs start to collapse from the strain. His head began pounding violently, and he felt as if he had just been stabbed. He longed to be with Olivia, still trying to ignore the pain in his chest. The pain spread through his body; he remembered his thoughts of death in his battle with Zagan. He had the same heavy weight on his chest, the same feelings of despair. He could smell death’s scent yet again. He looked up helplessly. There was a small light coming from the wall. The aura slowly came into focus; the source of light was from a glowing horn. A unicorn stood before him. Zephyr narrowed his eyes, attempting to justify this apparition. Another quick pain shot through his body. He shook violently as the pain grew more intense. The unicorn stared at Zephyr, intrigued as he writhed in pain. Lowering its head, it scraped the ground with its hoof and prepared to charge. It dashed directly at Zephyr. Zephyr screamed in pain as the unicorn leapt into his chest. The pain suddenly disappeared. Zephyr opened his eyes. He was on a platform composed entirely of light. Olivia stood in front of him. She slowly walked up to him and the two embraced. Zephyr felt the warmth flow through his body, and at that moment he knew he could die with no regrets. Zephyr closed his eyes and held Olivia closer. By the time he opened his eyes again, he was back in his cell, still suspended by the chains on the wall. It didn’t matter, however, as he could still feel the warm touch of Olivia. He turned to Raziel and Dex, who were trying to explain the unicorn. “Okay,” he said, “this is the plan!”

Hopes and dreams shatter, torn apart by the flaming blades that compose reality. --- "He died alone... No amount of sin can justify a death like that..." --- "I know nothing about life except how to overpower my opponents and convince people through force. It is shameful knowledge.” |
